She used Voluma. I've been wearing concealer alll week so haven't really noticed until now. I just googled and it said I could go blind or necrosis or embolism? Scary words to be thrown around. Do I need to go to ER since the office is closed until Monday. It's tender and kind of heavy feeling but no pain.
Answer: Bruising after tear trough injection I agree that this looks like a "normal" bruise that can be seen after injecting this area. Sometimes a bruise will take a few days to appear on the surface. Tenderness and a bit of swelling is not unusual, and this should all resolve within the next several days. I do not think you need to visit the ER, unless you develop a sudden increase in pain, swelling, or visual disturbances. Your provider will appreciate a call on Monday to discuss your progress. They may use a light-based treatment to assist in the fading of the bruise. In the meantime, gentle warm compresses and arnica (a topical cream you can get at the health food store) can speed up the resolution of your bruising and swelling.

Answer: Bruise after injection Bruising can be common depending on both technique and how fragile your skin is. Seek attention from your provider to see if there are any methods to expedite bruise absorption (i.e. IPL, saline injections, warm compress, etc)

Answer: Bruising 1 week after tear trough injections? Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. It appears that you developed a faint bruise rather than necrosis or embolism and this should clear quickly over the first 1-2 weeks after treatment. I would advocate for use of arnica montana and warm compresses, as well as eating dark leafy green vegetables to help speed resolution Hope this helps.

Answer: Side Effects of Voluma Any fillers if injected into small local vessels can cause necrosis, and around the eye can cause blindness. Your injector should have educated you regarding the common side effects and rare risks, as this is an important part of any physician-patient relationship. As I mentioned, it is very rare and you appear to have just normal bruising, which is relatively common for tear trough injections. I usually don't use Voluma, however, because in the tear trough region, it can become palpable and noticeable. This is because Voluma is an exceptionally dense filler and the tear trough region has very thin skin. I prefer to use thinner fillers such as Restylane or Belotero. I prefer to use a microcannula technique to minimize bruising. As mentioned, despite these efforts bruising can happen in the tear trough region. When this happens, I will often use my IPL laser to reduce the discoloration. If your injector has an IPL laser, that may be an option for you. Hope this helps.

Answer: Voluma injections I would recommend warm compresses for now to help the bruising subside. Call the office on Monday for them to evaluate you. It looks like they may have injured some vessels while injecting, which lead to the bruise. I did not think you need to go to the ER. This area is very sensitive and bruising is common.
