Why are fillers done more on the left than right? I had Voluma in my cheeks and she injected more on my left than right.

I have had Voluma injected into my cheeks and noticed that she injected more on my left than right. Today I had Juvi injected into my nasolabial folds and same thing: More injected into the left side than the right.

This may be due to asymmetries to the face. If you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your injector. Keep in mind, results will take 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Differing amounts of dermal fillers are often used to help improve upon any natural volume asymmetries in a patient's face.  If your left cheek was smaller, had greater sagging, or the NLF was deeper it would be expected to take more filler than your right.  Hope this helps.

we love symmetry.  Most people need or want more fillers for their left side of the face for symmetry.  Sleeping on your left side and driving a lot without sun protection will cause more collagen loss on the left side of your face.  Stay skintastic

If you look at faces, most people are not completely symmetric. This is normal. When we inject fillers or botox, we strive to somewhat correct this. If you had one cheek requiring more filler than the other- your doctor would have injected more filler on one side than the other.

We are all born with a certain amount of asymmetry in our face and our body. So, it isn't uncommon for a patient to need more filler in one side of the face than the other in order to improve facial balance. Hope this helps.

This is an excellent question!  Everyone has a small amount of facial asymmetry at baseline, and most skilled injectors try to take this into account and try to improve the balance and symmetry of the face when injecting fillers.  Many patients have slightly more volume loss on the left side due to sun exposure while driving, and as a result need more filler on that side.  Please follow-up with your injector if you have any concerns.  Best of luck!

Most of us have natural asymmetries in our facial structure. A skilled injector will be able to identify these asymmetries and correct for these with filler injections, adding more product if there is less natural volume on one side versus the other. Our injectors will review these things during the consultation process, so our patients understand why they may receive different amounts of product on different sides of the face. If you are happy with the results and you have achieved greater facial symmetry with your injections, then job well done to your injector! It still would be worth discussing your treatment plan with your injector before you receive the fillers so you understand why you may be receiving different products and amounts in different areas of your face.

used to enhance the appearance of the face. Depending on the individual and her volume deficits more product can be placed on one side versus the other side. Commonly more sun damage is seen on the left side, especially for those who drive a lot. Please
