Scabs and redness after Tummy Tuck at 6 weeks...am I healing ok? (photos)

Question

June 17 I will be exact 6 weeks after tt with muscle repair. ...my left side from the beginning seems to be healing slower..I have 2 scabs on my left side and towards the middle with lots of dark red almost purple...I use pro derm cream from my ps......I massage my scar twice a day. Does this look normal? Or should I be concerned? . I appreciate the doctors who take their time answering our question...thank you! ..Ohh and I still wear my binder as directed.

Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.At this point (6 weeks post-po) the swelling is normal, and its completely normal to have scabs and redness.To reduce it, I recommend you perform daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the abdomen and wear a postoperative girdle from thigh to the breasts.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Looks like you're healing well, there is nothing to worry about.  Some spots can scab and take a little longer to heal but they will eventually heal fully.

Delayed healing can occur and persist in the post operative period for several weeks after surgery. You may want to check in with your surgeon to make sure you don't have fluid behind your surgical area. Hope that helps!
