Flanks swollen after tummy tuck? (Photo)

That swollen areas are both dog ears, which over the months will look smaller and better.I will be good if you get seen by your doctor once you have passed 3-4 months post op and determine what to do.Dr. Cardenas

It does look as though you have some excess tissue way towards the back of of the flanks. That is not typically addressed with an abdominoplasty. I usually offer flank liposuction and turn a patient on the front first before I do the tummy tuck procedure. Just check in with your surgeon. You probably do have swelling as well. 

Thank you for your question. I think you have both swelling and dog ear at the end of incisions. Both will settle with time. Please follow instructions from your PS and reevaluate after 3-4 months.
