I noticed this about a year and a half ago. I thought it was temporary but it continued on. It's really starting to bother me and my eyes look two different sizes. What can I do to fix it? My eye doctor didn't say anything and instead told me to go to my family doctor. $$?
Answer: Ok, your eye doctor does not know anything about this. Big, big difference between a general ophthalmologist and a fellowship trained oculoplastic surgeon. That extra crease is due to an attachment to the anterior levator aponeurosis. It is essentially impossible to release this adherence. A more practical solution is to lift the fold to eliminate the secondary fold. The right side also has to be adjusted to match the left side.

Answer: Getting rid of excess eyelid fold. You would be a great candidate for an upper eyelid surgery to remove this redundant fold. It is a very simple procedure which can even be done under local anesthesia if you choose so.

Answer: Eyelid asymmetry An examination will allow your surgeon to determine what type of procedure will best correct your extra fold. This could be performed under local anesthetic which would keep costs down.

Answer: Third Fold on the Eyelid/s Hellothere! Thank you for the question and the photos! Normally, if there are visionissues, you will go to an eye doctor or an ophthalmologist. However, if theissue would be the eyelids and the surrounding areas, in the eyes, you willwant to seek advice from a plastic surgeon, especially one expert withoculoplastic surgeries. Each doctor serves a huge difference in the servicesthat they provide. Now,since that one is cleared, the “triple eyelid” or the third fold on youreyelids may be resolved via surgery and some of the skin on your left eye maybe removed. Some minor adjustment may also be done on the right eyelid asneeded to balance the appearance of the two. However, nothing too extensiveshould be done since your appear young and your skin is still highly changing. This is as much as I can provide at this point since I am only relying on yourdescription and attached photos. Iwould highly recommend visiting a board certified plastic surgeon, not yourophthalmologist, so you can be evaluated better. Your board certified plasticsurgeon will be able to provide you the best options to remove the third foldon your eyelid as well as balance the appearance of both of your eyelids. Bestof luck!

Answer: How do I get rid of this triple eyelid? A full set of facial and eyelids photographs are required to make a determination about what may be going on here. As long as you do not have any ptosis, a small amount of excess skin can be removed triple eyelid so that it matches the opposite side.
