I'm wondering why highly qualified surgeons in Canada are not upgrading to the new state of the art technology to improve Rhinoplasty results in their patients. I've noticed one Toronto rhinoplasty expert offering ultrasonic rhinoplasty and another in Montreal. I would love your feed back. I'm shocked because I would think surgeons would want to switch to the best technology since the rasp has been outdated for 100 years.
Answer: Rhinoplasty Surgery Thank you for your question i would recommend operation using the latest Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty device Piezo®: In traditional Rhinoplasty, surgical instruments known as rasps and osteotomies (hammer and chisel) are used to reshape the nasal bones by removing the hump and/or narrowing the nasal bone width. These tools are relatively imprecise and their use can lead to contour irregularities, etc. if not used in the proper manner. Recently, a technology that uses sound waves has been developed to contour nasal bones in a precise and far less traumatic way when compared to traditional techniques. Ultrasonic, or Piezo, Rhinoplasty is now the most advanced technology available for minimally traumatic nasal bone reshaping and hump removal during Rhinoplasty. There will be hardly any bruising and swelling which will make the recovery period a lot easier for the patient.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. After performing over 1000 rhinoplasties and being in practice for 25 years, I have some perspective. In every procedure there is always a "new technique" that is promoted by the manufactures of those devices for that new technique. Some examples that never panned out were laser blepharoplasty, thread lifting, and Endotynes for brow lifting, The list goes on and on. Most modern plastic surgeons will adopt a new technique if it actually makes a difference in their outcome or efficiency. Ultrasonic rhinoplasty technology does not help me with a more accurate or better at rhinoplasty. Virtually all of my rhinoplasties have no bruising with modifications of current techniques. I would invest more in the quality of the result and artistry of the surgeon versus whether they use one of these new technologies. Best wishes to you.

Answer: Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty technology There are many tools in a creative Rhinoplasty surgeons armamentarium ,Piezotome or Ultrasonic tools is just one of them .Ultrasonic tools are in use for many years specially dentistry ,maxillofacial surgery and Neurosurgery ,they have an advantage in these specialty as they cut the bone and preserve the soft tissue , In Rhinoplasty at best the advantage is it produces less swelling(as claimed by some),but it does not change the final outcome ,Surgeons skill is more important then the Bone cutting tool . Many Rhinoplasty surgeons have started using it but most believe that the traditional equipment's are good enough and it is not worth the additional cost .It is certainly not a game changer ,
