Can I get a nose like Natalie Portman? (Photo)

Thank you for your question and photo. You are a great Candidate for Rhinoplasty, surgical instruments known as rasps and osteotomies (hammer and chisel) are used to reshape the nasal bones by removing the hump and/or narrowing the nasal bone width. These tools are relatively imprecise and their use can lead to contour irregularities, etc. if not used in the proper manner. Recently, a technology that uses sound waves has been developed to contour nasal bones in a precise and far less traumatic way when compared to traditional techniques. Ultrasonic, or Piezo, Rhinoplasty is now the most advanced technology available for minimally traumatic nasal bone reshaping and hump removal during Rhinoplasty. There will be hardly any bruising and swelling which will make the recovery period a lot easier for the patient.

It is important to discuss your goals during your consultation. Your goals seem to be reasonable. Though it is not usually possible to get the exact duplicate celebrity nose, the general characterstics can be achieved.

This would not be extreme, and would involve modification of your bridge and your tip cartilages. To achieve a predictable and stable result, structural rhinoplasty involving reduction of the nasal bones and septum, and placement of stabilizing cartilage grafts to secure the bridge. Further, tip cartilage would be manipulated by reduction, shaping with sutures, and reinforcement with cartilage grafts as well. This would give you a similar result as Natalie (who had a rhinoplasty as well).

Rhinoplasty for a more feminine and attractive face. You can have a nose similar to hers IF you select a very experienced surgeon who does that you like. Look at their results in dozens of noses and don’t rely on imaging !

I don’t think your nose is so bad to need a rhinoplasty. Although your nose may not be exactly like Natalie Portman, it dies help to show photos of her to your surgeon to give them an idea what you want..

Your nose can be refined with an artistically performed rhinoplasty to be in harmony with your individual facial features. It will not be identical to the photos of your desired result. If you truly expect that, you may be disappointed.

Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on a limited photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.
