Short philtrum and how to fix ? (photos)

Question

Its been a huge struggle and I currently get Botox injected in the sides of my nose to reduce the lip but I don't think this work to hide my gummy smile. I believe I have a tight philtrum of a big nose that brings it up. What course of action would you advise?

Releasing the attachment of the upper lip at the base of the nasal septum and anterior nasal spine can bring down the position of the philtrum and with it of the upper lip.

It may not achieve everything that you would like to achieve but it would make a difference.

Hi, it’s certainly possible to reduce your gummy smile by reducing your nasal projection via rhinoplasty.You may also need the tethering on the inside of your upper lip releasing.Hope this is helpful

It is possible that your tip sticks too far out from your face and that setting it back will take the tension off your upper lip. You appear to have what some call a “tension nose”. Lowering the bridge may be a good solution for it.

It is diffcult to provide advise you based on static photographs.

Release of the depressor nasi septi muscle may help you particularly if on smiling, you get a droopy nasal tip (Nasal tip ptosis). It is also important to know how much does a Botox injection improves your condition.

I would suggest that you consult with an expert rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgeon.
