I have extra large chin implant, it is deformed and oddly shaped what can I do to fix this?

It is hard to say if your result is because of a poor selection of implant shape/size, or if it was placed in a suboptimal anatomical position. The best solution for you would be a customized chin implant to be placed after removal of your current implant.

While I don't know what your chin looked like before surgery, it appears that your extra large chin implant has also made your chin much wider...which would be expected if the chin implant was an extended anatomic style. The most informed guidance is going to come from see before as well as after surgery pictures and knowing exactly what chin implant style and size you had placed.

I suggest you first and foremost get proper before and after pictures and always use those when communicating your concerns or issues.

If you don’t have your before and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the ones that were taken before and after your procedure.

Schedule another appointment with your surgeon and ask the surgeon to set apart more time because you want to review your outcome in more detail.

When discussing your concerns you need to be able to clearly state what you are not happy about and what you wish you had achieved.

Most likely you’ll need a revision of your implant with a replacement of a smaller or more appropriate implant. This can sometimes be done by shaving down the original implant or simply replacing it with a more appropriate size implant.

Exchanging chin implants is much easier than the primary procedure.

Still, it’s a procedure and you have to go through the healing stages afterwards.

Simply stating you’re not happy with the outcome isn’t good enough. You need to explicitly explain what it is you don’t like and what you would like changed.

Always communicate with your surgeon or one posting on real self using professional before and after pictures.
