I'm getting a sliding genioplasty done, with 5mm vertical elongation and 8mm horizontal elongation. My surgeon said that HA is optional, and that it won't really impact healing or aesthetic much for the amount of augmentation that I want. However, I'm concerned that 8mm horizontal and 5mm down may impact healing and create too large of a gap, or too large of a step off. What has been your past experiences with this much augmentation, and should I consider using the HA paste?
