The bottom left side (right in the pic) of my face looks fuller and I’m wondering if anything can be done to fix it like Botox or fat dissolving injections? I’ve attached a picture and I will say it’s a lot more noticeable in person.
Answer: Botox to Slim the Face It is very difficult to provide a treatment plan through a picture. You will need a consultation with a qualified injector to determine what is the best course of action for you. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a natural, purified protein that relaxes muscles by blocking nerve impulses. It is commonly used in patients with a very strong, defined jawline to relax the muscles resulting in a slimmer face. We would not use fat desolving products such as Belkyra in the face, this product is only approved for use in the submental area (chin). Dermal fillers are also an option to help sculpt the face. I encourage you to meet with a reputable injector to discuss the results you are looking for. All the best,

Answer: Trusculpt for the Face Hello Thank you for the picture. I highly recommend a non-invasive treatment, truSculpt to slim and contour the face. In my practice we have used on several patients who have been very happy. It may take three treatments about 8 weeks apart. Best!!

Answer: Masseter botox Hello, thanks for sharing your pics. It seems like you have masseter hypertrophy which is making your face look broad. Botox to masseter can help you get a narrow face, also radiofrequency devices and lipolytic injection can reduce the fat and give a prominent jaw line. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Can I make my bigger LEFT lower face and jawline slimmer to be more symmetrical without jaw shaving surgery? Thank you for your question and picture.Let me start that facial asymmetry is common and natural. That being said, we usually thrive for as symmetrical as possible.Jaw shaving procedure is the ultimate permanent treatment for this with a small incision intra-orally, a 1-hour procedure under general anesthesia. As for non-permanent treatment, you could consider 30 units of Botox into the left masseter muscle (one of the 4 chewing muscles); the masseter is ONE of the structures that can give you fullness in the lower face area. Paralyzing or weakening the masseter (something were do frequently for patients with thick muscles as seen with many Asian males and females) will lead to its atrophy (shrinking) for 4-6 months (analogous to adding a cast to a leg: after 6 weeks of immobilization, the muscles have shrunk considerably). The use of fat dissolving agent like Belkyra (Canada) and Kybella (USA) is likely not a good idea and here is why: our nerve cells are surrounded by fat cells which are required for nerve impulse transmission; the region contains the facial motor nerve for facial animation; should the Belkyra/Kybella reach the facial nerve, you could end up with facial asymmetry and some component of facial paralysis. For patients in your situation, a final option would be to ADD fillers to the smaller right side, for symmetry or to add a small JAW ANGLE implant.Hope this helps!Kind regards,Dr. Marc DuPere, aesthetic plastic surgeon

Answer: Slimmer Face Without Surgery It is possible to contour the cheeks with thermal fillers and neurotoxins which results in a slimmer appearance. However, it is difficult to tell from your picture what your exact treatment plan should be. It is best to consult with a board-certified injector to understand your options.
