Eight hours after Botox, I can already see results on my forehead. What does this mean?

It's my first ever Botox treatment and am worried if the Botox taking effect quick also means it will were off quick. Is it likely I have a fast metabolism? Thanks

I am not aware of cases of Botox wearing off quickly when there was a much quicker onset of action. The few patients I have in whom Botox wears off in between 4 and 8 weeks do not see it starting to work before all the other patients whose Botox treatments lasts 3 to 4 months.

On average, patients typically begin to see results from Botox 4-7 days after treatment, with the full effect at 2 weeks. Some patients may begin to see improvement earlier.  Results from Botox typically resolve in 3-4 months.  Best wishes,

Dear saulleach,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Finding an experienced physician injector is your best bet.Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days but it can also occur earlier.It depends on the amount of Botox and area where it is injected but it usually last for 3-4 months.Daniel Barrett, MD

That is awesome that you are seeing results so quickly.  It typically takes a few days to a week before most individuals notice results.  It is not likely due to a fast metabolism, but more likely due to your being more astute.  You should not experience any decrease in the longevity of your procedure.  Enjoy it!

This does not mean that your Botox will ware off quickly. It just means that your body is more sensitive to Botox and has nothing to do with your metabolism. Enjoy the results and good luck from New York City

Consider yourself lucky to have Botox kick in this quick. Usually it takes 3/4 days to see the effects and 7-10 days for full results. Dysport usually kicks in sooner 1-2 days. It will have no effect on the longevity or outcome of your procedure.

I have some patients who notice the affects of Botox as early as the next day.  In general, it takes 3 days for the effects to begin and 10 to see the full effect.  I would not worry if you see the effect earlier.  That does not mean that it will wear off more quickly.  Sometimes, especially the first time, it just kicks in more quickly than average. Thankyou for your question . Results after botox are generally not seen for 2 - 4 days however , some patients definitely advised me of faster onset. I have not found this to correlate with wearing off faster so I would relax about this .
