Some patients with laxity of the lower face may have some droopiness related to a retrusive chin. This may help, and so will Ultherapy alongside a chin implant to tighten the lower face and neck.
Liposuction or a neck lift would be the two alternatives from your description, but a physical exam or the appropriate pictures would be necessary to give an accurate answer in regard to your specific circumstance. Find a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of facial procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. It is possible the liposuction under the chin and neck will give you a slimmer looking neck. However, some photos (frontal and profile views) of this area are necessary to further confirm or at least suggest this option. It could also be possible that after the liposuction you are left with loose skin and/or underlying muscle and thus need a neck lift to tighten this up. Best next step is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon that can physically evaluate you and recommend the best plan from there. Glad to help...
My suggestion is to consult with a surgeonregarding your neck. You may be a candidate to submental Smartlipo; thisprocedure will contour your jawline making it more definitive. You will berequired to wear a compression garment over the area for a few days but it willbe worth the new jawline/neck appearance. Good luck!
thank you for the question. Generally speaking you can't make a wide neck and are smaller with liposuction or even laser assisted liposuction such as slim lipo. You might be able to make it look a little bit better but it's definitely do have limitations and if you're truly working on the lateral aspects of the neck you were jeopardizing some sensory nerves and potentially even motor nerves they can give you some prolonged issues. That being said we really did look at photos and an in person consultation with someone who performs neck liposculpture or liposuction regularly would be the most helpful to you. It's a possibility but we can't say for sure unless we see some photographs or see you in person. Sorry couldn't be more helpful Chase Lay, MD
there are 2 types of fat in the neck, these are sub-platysmal and sub-mental fat. Both will need to be removed to rejuvenate the neck. A platysma-plasty will also be required once any sub-platysmal fat is removed. The horizontal creases are present in the neck will not get any better with any type of surgery.
Photos Please. In general liposuction NEVER corrects rings around the neck. Liposuction does reduce fat under the chin, in the area of the jowls, along the mandibular border, in the parotid area. and in the cheek. Your candidacy may be excellent but we really need pictures. I hope this gives you some direction that is useful. My Best, Dr C
It is possible to have some trauma to the nerves during chin augmentation and liposuction and in most cases, this is not permanent. In many cases, in may only take a few weeks for return of nerve function, but sometimes it can take several months. It really just takes a matter of...
For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject...
I get my best Liposuction results using thin 3mm cannulas . I primarily use manual suction and remove small amounts of fat at a time. If a surgeon uses a large cannula which extracts large amounts quickly, this can be problematic in achieving a good result. Smooth, even results are...
The small double chin usually results from extra fat. A nice treatment option for this is Smartlipo. Smartlipo is laser assisted lipolysis. In this surgery the extra fat which is creating the double chin is treated with the laser. This basically melts the fat. I often use a small cannula for...
The amount of swelling after chin and neck liposuction depends on the type of anesthesia, the severity of the original problem, the extent of surgery, and the amount of postoperative compression. I would initiate Arnica for bruising and maintain compression and massage.
From your photo it looks like liposuction of your neck and chin area will yield good results. There are photos on the link below which may help you understand what kind of results are possible with submental liposuction
