I’ve had this puffy nipple problem since I was 13 and I think it’s gyno. I’ve included some pics. I’m wondering at 19 if there is a chance it will go away or will I have to look at surgical options

If your gynecomastia has been present for more than 2 years, it most likely is permanent and can only be resolved by surgery. Gynecomastia surgery is not considered a medically necessary procedure, however if it bothers you be sure to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in gynecomastia. Good luck.

Thank you for your question and photos!  You appear to have some chest wall fullness.  It is commonly associated with the onset of Puberty.  Medications can also cause this.  It is best treated with surgery- liposuction but can also be treated with coolsculpting.

Gynecomastia or enlarged male breasts is a common problem during adolescence that is supposed to resolve on its own by the time a patient becomes an adult. If the problem persists post 18 years of age, then medical assistance may be required to rectify the issue via medication or surgery.
The physician will first determine the underlying cause, and if the patient has gynecomastia with breast tissue or pseudo-gynecomastia with just fat and proceed with treatment accordingly.

If you have had the puffiness since you were 13, it may well be a case of gynaecomastia. However, it is not a necessary or dangerous condition and unless it is a bother to your esteem you can certainly consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in  gynaecomastia surgeries. Gynecomastia is not a condition that will harm you unless it gets into your head and negatively impacts your behavior. It can physically alter your posture and muscles and skeletal alignment by shrugging your shoulders to hide your gynecomastia.The only treatment is a procedure to contour the tissue. Diet, weight loss and exercise will not change the natural history or appearance of gynecomastia.

Hi thanks for your question. From your pictures it looks like you have chest fullness. Meet a board certified plastic surgeon for examination and consultation .Surgical option for gynaecomastia  would be liposuction combined with gland excision to give best results. Good luck.

Hello. Gynecomastia can happen with pubertal growth and if mild can sometimes  resolve in a few years. It is not possible to diagnose gynnecomastia without a physical examination. If needed, the treatment is surgical, either excision or liposuction or usually a combination of both.

It's hard to tell from your photographs exactly how much of the excess tissue is adipose (fat cells) and how much is glandular breast tissue. A physician will be able to examine you and feel the difference. If there is glandular tissue, sometimes it can be removed with liposuction, sometimes it requires and incision. If it is adipose tissue only, liposuction can improve the contour. If things haven't changed much since you were 13, it is unlikely you will see improvement without surgery. Best to you!
