Hello, I have always had a very full face. I have the desire to get more definition in my cheeks and chin, and more chiseled overall. So far I have considered the following: Buccal Fat Removal Chin/Jaw/Neck/Jowl Liposuction Cheek Augmentation (with implants or fat transfer) Chin augmentation Genioplasy Jaw reshaping V-line surgery/Jaw shaving Based on my photos, what do you think would best procedure(s) for me? I am 22 and 140 pounds. Also, I am looking for a procedure that is more permanent.
Answer: Wide, fat, flat face: What procedure(s) will best help define my cheeks and jaw/give me a more slim petite face = weight loss Wide face is usually genetically determined. However overall body weight influences the shape of the face. Patients with weight above normal for the height (BMI = bonds mass index) tend to have a round shape, fullness underneath the chin ( double chin) and lack of jaw line definition. In my practice patients with elevated weight and wide fat face are recommended to loose weight with diet and exercise to achieve a normal or low-normal BMI. Then if after loosing weight chubby cheeks are still present, buccal fat removal to thin the lower face is taking into consideration.

Answer: Buccal Pad Thanks for your question and Pictures The buccal fat pad is a rounded mass of fat in the middle of your cheek. It’s located between facial muscles, in the hollow area beneath your cheekbone. The size of your buccal fat pads affects your face shape. Everyone has buccal fat pads. However, the size of buccal fat pads can vary greatly. If you have larger buccal fat pads, you might feel like your face is too round or full. You can be a candidate for a Buccal Pad removal surgery. Best of Luck

Answer: Sculpt your face Hi FutureMSNewbooty,You would benefit from buccal fat reduction combined with cervicofacial liposuction. These two procedures will help define your cheeks and jawline. As far as your chin line, I would recommend a genioplasty procedure that would advance and slightly lengthen your chin. These three procedures would provide long lasting results with minimally invasive approach which is appropriate for your age. Best of luck and always chose a a board certified facial surgeon who specializes in cosmetic facial surgeryDr. M
