I’ve been receiving Dysport injections every 6 months to treat a vertical brow furrow that had just begun to appear in my early 30s. Over the past year, I’ve noticed this weird raised area between my brows. It was there before and after my most recent dysport treatment and I’m not sure if it’s related or not. It’s as if the muscle is sitting higher just between my eyes and casts a shadow in that spot.

Answer: Raised areas between the eyebrows after Dysport It is difficult to assess this without seeing and feeling the raised area, but based on your photos, the outline of the raised area between your eyebrows correlates with distribution of the procerus muscle, which is responsible for the horizontal crease at the bridge of your nose when you frown. By blocking muscle action with Dysport or Botox, muscles will become smaller over time. Depending on how your Dysport was distributed its possible that your procerus muscle was not blocked as well as your other frown muscles. As a result, your procerus could be comparatively stronger/larger compared to the other frown muscles. You might discuss this with your injector and see if some additional Dysport could address the issue, but it could take some time for the muscles to even out. I would also make sure a physician assesses the area for any underlying growths like lipomas or osteomas that could cause a raised area on the forehead.
