Had Dysport 8 days ago and I have horrible Jack Nicholson eyebrows, should I wait or find a new injector to fix it? (photo)

Sorry to hear about your experience after Dysport. It appears that too much was given to your central forehead and not as much to the outer forehead. This results in the classic "spock" or "Jack Nicholson" eyebrows. However, there should be no pain associated with this. You are likely feeling uncomfortable because too much was given and your forehead is too weak. The easy fix for the eyebrows is to give a little more Botox or Dysport to the outer forehead to balance things out. It may not fix the discomfort though. If you were my patient I would correct this without charging you, but each injector is different. Make sure you are under the care of a physician injector you trust. Best wishes.

Hi @raceylacey! It appears to me that you have spock brows. Spock brows occur when Botox is injected only at the central part of the upper forehead, leaving the sides untouched. When the central forehead is weakened and the outer sides remain active, it causes the central brow to drop and the outer brow to appear like it's lifted too high. Fortunately, this is easily fixable with a few units of Botox placed above the arch of the eyebrow. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your question, raceylacey! This should be easily fixed by adding some more Dysport to the side of the forehead above the brow, it should only require a few units.

I'm sorry for your Dysport experience. It's always best to follow up with your injector, but if they do not understand the problem nor have a solution to fix it, I would highly suggest following up with a Facial Plastics office, preferably a physician injector who has thorough knowledge of facial anatomy. Hope all is well. Best, Dr. Anil Shah

Botox results last up to 3-4 months and can be softened with venus legacy and thermage treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

You've had too much Dysport in your central forehead.  This causes the center part of the brows to drop and and outer ends to peak when you elevate the brows.  The only way to fix this is to have a bit more injected over the peak to relax the muscles in the outer forehead.  The risk is that the brows might feel heavy.  

I'm sorry to hear of the discomfort you are having after your Dysport treatment. Yes, you can return to your injector for a touch up that will correct the unwanted affect on the eyebrows. Hopefully it will resolve your headache as well.

Botox lock the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Botox essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within 3-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months. Follow up with your injector at 2 weeks to correct the raised eyebrow. I’m very sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience with Dysport.

“Spock brow” can occur when Dysport or Botox is placed centrally in the forehead limiting the movement here, but not placed far enough to the sides allowing those muscles to pull the tail of your eyebrows upward. The good news is this can typically be fixed easily with just a small amount of Dysport placed to the sides of the forehead, so it isn’t pulling the eyebrow tails upward.

At our office we ask patients to return within a month for any complementary touchup that might be needed. We do ask they wait a minimum of 2 weeks as it can take this long to see the full effect of the Botox/Dysport.

Thank you for your question. I Sorry that you have unfavorable results with your Botox. Your injector should be able to correct this very simply with two injections. IMO your injector should correct it without charging you. I would call him/her again and see if you can get  in immediately. If your injector is not responses, I would recommend a second opinion.
