Thank you for your question. After surgery, depending on how fast you heal, we recommend takind at least 14-21 days off work. After that time we recommend slowly going back to your regular activities, make sure you don't over push your body.
Hello,Thank you for your question. In general, I advise 2 weeks off from work after an Abdominoplasty. Depending on requirements of the job you may want to take longer or be sure that you can change position and take multiple breaks during the day when you return. Long periods of standing or sitting will be uncomfortable and heavy lifting should be avoided for 6 weeks or more. I recommend that you talk with your plastic surgeon about your expectations. All the best
Hello and thank you for your question. The general recovery from a tummy tuck is 2 weeks. If you work on your feet all day, you may want to consider three weeks. If you are an appropriate candidate for a tummy tuck, this can be done through a low and shortincision, all completely below the bikini line. The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars onthe exterior. Your muscles can also beplicated resulting in a flat abdomen. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures ofreal patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluatetheir results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you arecomfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualifiedboard-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Every plastic surgeon has a different requirement for time off after a tummy tuck. It is usually about 2 weeks for a desk job and a little longer for more physical jobs. Discuss with your board certified plastic surgeon and they will help you make a post operative plan.
I recommend you discuss any concerns with your PS, every surgeon has different post op care instructions for their patients, I usually tell my patients to wait a couple of weeks best wishes.
Thanks for your inquiry, it is imperative you have your surgeon answer this question for you because he/she would know how extensive your operation is. In general, patients can spend a good portion of their day on their feet after 2 weeks, good luck.

Thank you for your question.I find that many patients underestimate the actual recovery time associated with extensive operations such as tummy tuck surgery. The operation is associated with a very significant physical, and often "emotional", recovery period.I ask my tummy tuck patients to refrain from any heavy-lifting or strenuous exercise for 6-8 weeks to prevent any complications and ensure proper healing. Even at 2 months post op patients will report that they have not reached full strength/stamina. It may be 3-4 months before patients reach full strength. Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to returning to specific activities. My best suggestion: start slow, gradually ease back into activities, and listen to her body as you do so. Frankly, given your occupation, I would likely advise you to take as many weeks off as possible. Best wishes.
Thanks for your questions about tummy tuck.In general it takes 10-14 days for patients to recover nicely from a tummy tuck and feel better doing most things. It is also normal to expect that you may have some stiffness and decreased energy after surgery so I normally recommend that patients plan to take at least 2 weeks away from work. If the work they do is labor intensive with extended periods of standing and lifting then it is possible that an additional week would be appropriate.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Recovery is around two weeks, however consult with your PS to receive the post op steps that you need for your case.Good luck :)
Hello,Thank you for your question. After 6 weeks, your incision should be well-healed and not in danger at all of opening, however swelling will still be present and skin may be sensitive. A few months will usually be recommended to allow the majority of swelling to resolve. All the best
The sutures used during your surgery are not longer contributing to your abdominal wall integrity. A host of other factors my account for your feelings. A visit with your doctor is recommended.
Thank you for your question. The answer is yes you can, althought you may lose the results from the tummy tuck. It is recommended to wait until you're done having kids to undergo a tummy tuck procedure. Tummy tuck is a very powerful technique in the right hands, and can have dramatic results i...
