Do I have keloid scars after breast augmentaiton? (Photo)

Hidef protocols can help with keloid and hypertrophic scars on the face and body. Surgery is often not needed if lasers are introduced.

The incision should be made with a razor shard scalpel.  After that one uses the electric knife to cut through the fat and breast tissue.  It is not appropriate for reasons you are seeing to burn the skin.

Dear debb4, Based off the pictures you have provided it looks like you have some scar hypertrophy. There are plenty of options to improve this, including both surgical and non-surgical. I suggest following up with your operating surgeon for their suggestion to address your concerns. Best of luck to you! 

Thank you for your question and photograph.  Your photograph indicates that you may have what is known as a hypertrophic or keloid scar.  That being said, my advice is to wait one full year before considering a scar revision.  Scars often respond well to laser treatments and steriod injections if deemed necessary.  Best to follow the specific instructions given to you by your plastic surgeon.  Good luck.

Those do look like they are either hypertrophic or keloid. An in person exam would be needed to confirm. If straight cautery was used on the skin then that may be a potential reason. 

Thank you for your question and submitting your photos.  From the look of the scar in the photo provided, it appears to be what is called a hypertrophic scar.  These are commonly mis-labeled as keloids.  It is important to have regular followup with your surgeon to watch as the scar goes through the maturation process and changes over time.  Down the road silicone sheets, laser treatment, or even scar revision may be required to yield the best results for your skin type and tendency for hypertrophic scarring.  

It does appear as if you have hypertrophic scars which are thickened scars but not as thick as keloids. Best to discuss with your surgeon. They may want to try to inject these scars with a steroid/ 5 FU mix to see if that improves them. Another option is scar excision and revision.

It definitely appears that you have a widened, hypertrophic scar. Best to re-visit with your plastic surgeon to see what he or she recommends. Often, injections with kenalog can help flatten the scar and the redness typically goes away with time. However, if that doesn't work, there is always the possibility of scar revision by excising the old scar. Good luck!

From your photographs, it appears that you have hypertrophic scars. It seems silicone compounds have not helped. This leaves the possibility of injecting the site with a long acting cortisone, or excising the area and hoping that it heals better the second time around. Excision and closure does not always lead to improvement though. The scars could even get worse. Check with your plastic surgeon to discuss how you might proceed
