The best way to determine the size that fits your personal perception of the perfect breast is to try on sizers. This way you can see how they fit on you, how they add to your current volume, and whether they fit your frame. Although the surgeon can guide you, only you will be able to tell what is the right size. Try on sizers.  Measuring a diameter and then telling the patient what volume they can have (in high, moderate or moderate plus implants) in my mind is backwards. The patients should be allowed to choose the volume. Then the surgeon carefully considers the base diameter, projection, profile, manufacturer, and fill material that will achieve the patients goals of size as well as qualitative look (natural, intermediate, or bold upper pole fullness or projection), all the while taking into consideration the patient's anatomic features that will affect the outcome.  The experience of the surgeon and the degree to which they explain the options to you is of utmost importance. The subtlety in the final outcome is not achieved by which profile implant is used, it is determined by the skill in the creation of the pocket, the choice of implant. Don't let the doctor tell you what would look good on you. They cannot tell what you perceive to be the best size. That is up to you.

Hi.  As you know, there is a lot of healing yet to come.  Your muscles will relax, swelling will subside, the pocket will mature and the implants will settle into position.  Take some pictures along the way so that you can see the improvements and feel comfortable with the changing look.  High projection implants provide good cleavage and a lifted appearance, and may mean you don't need pushup bras and can hold up little-to-no strap tops up alone.  Your confidence is central to how you will look and feel so don't get discouraged this early on.  Best wishes, Dr. Doolabh

It’s too early to know at this point. It takes a good 3 months for things to settle and the swelling to resolve enough to get a real sense of what your final results will look like. If you are really concerned then book a follow up with your surgeon so they can reassure you. Best of luck! 

Thank you for this question.  I hope and trust that you underwent a breast augmentation for yourself- if you are happy then that is all that matters! Don't stress about the specific size. If you are satisfied and feel confident with the results then you should enjoy the results!  Over the next few months the results will settle and change. Thanks for the question and pictures.  You are very early in your healing phase.  Your implants will change shape and settle significantly over the next several weeks to months.  It looks like you will have a nice result.  

It's much too early at 4 days to consider this a final result.   The breast implants will drop to a normal position with the passage of time (3 - 6 months).  I think you will be pleased with the final results.  As swelling goes down and the muscle relaxes, the supple nature of the breast tissue will return. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  You look to have an excellent initial appearance to your breasts and should expect a very nice result.  Currently the swelling from surgery is keeping the implants high, tight, and flat against your chest and over the first 6-8 weeks you should see a more natural appearance develop.  I know waiting is difficult but allow your results at least 6 months time to mature and then revisit your appearance.  Hope this helps.
