I have glue in my self dissolve scars, should I protect them better?

Surgical glue is a great post-operative dressing that I use regularly.  It protects your incision and makes it water proof.  You should not be concerned about it.   Depending on the brand, I find that it takes 2-3 weeks for the glue to fall off.  If still on after that, you can use Vaseline or any petroleum containing product to remove the glue.

The glue should allow you to shower the next day.  I would be concerned about having the pressure of the bra on the wound.

Thank you for your question.  Although post operative instructions do vary from one plastic surgeon to another, I advise my patients to keep the steri-tape which was placed on during the surgical procedure in place for 4 weeks.  Best to follow the specific instructions given to you by your plastic surgeon.  Best of luck.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and best wishes on your recovery.  Each surgeon has different treatment techniques for their incisions and placement of glue over the top of incisions is a common practice.  I would protect your scars from irritation from your bra with a feminine pad or gauze, however.  Hope this helps.

Hello- This type of glue protects the incision so you may shower as normal. The glue will peel off in about a week.  Good Luck!

can see a protocol (exposed method) that's not very common causing some
difficulties to you.
This
method is not very convenient to some especially if
you did not discuss preoperatively.
I
can only try to explain if this helps you.Your wound has been closed by several
layers of dissolvable stitches, and
they will hold your wound edges together
at least for 6 weeks during which time the wound will heal completely with or without external cover like steri strips
or dressing.
All
that what matters is good general hygiene and whenever
possible to run some antiseptic solution
like betadine or chlorhexidine solution on the
surface before using cotton ball before you were a bra.
You
must discuss all this with your PS.
