If my body has metabolized Restylane quickly in the past (in both my lips and cheeks), would Kysse work for me?

I’ve been filling my lips for years, but I was ready for a fresh start. A new girl dissolved my filler and we are set to fill them next week. I had told her that Restylane doesn’t work for me. I have tried it twice and metabolized through it super fast. I have been using Juvederm. She examined me and told me we were going to use Kysse. She said she loves it. I have since googled it and found out it is Restylane! Is Kysse better than other Restylane fillers? Thanks!

Each filler has different properties including crosslinking which give it particular properties. Your treating provider will decide which product they believe is appropriate for you.

Thank you for your question and I appreciate your concern. Restylane is the brand name for a family of fillers. Restylane is also the name of the original filler in this family. All Restylane products are composed of hyaluronic acid, but each has its own specific formulation, differing it from the others. If you had Restylane in the past, it may be that your results only lasted a few months. However, Restylane Kysse is designed to last longer and it is specifically formulated for the lips to produce a very natural, beautiful result. I advise you to choose your injector based on experience and expertise. When you do that, you should receive a very good result regardless of the specific filler used.

All of the restylane fillers are hyaluronic acid. You should try to see if you can get a Vycross product like Volbella which lasts longer.

Your question reflects the confusion in the naming of fillers. Kysse is actually "Restylane Kysse" and "Restylane" refers to plain Resylane. Kysse should last about a year or so, whereas Resylane lasts around 6 months or so. There are many other factors to consider besides longevity when choosing which lip filler: Do you want just hydration? Do you want more volume? Do you increased height, but without projection? Do you need to re-shape your Cupid's bow or correct significant asymmetries? You should let your injector guide you toward the best filler to achieve both longevity AND your desired outcome. Restylane is a brand of fillers. Just because you metabolized Restylane (Restylane L, Silk, other?) does not mean you will metabolize Restylane Kysse faster. I really like Kysse. If Restylane Refyne or Defyne did not last long for you, I might consider another type of filler as Kysse is similar to these fillers.
