Could consuming alcohol within 24 hours of lip injections dissolve filler & not achieve full results?

Hi there,It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption following dermal filler injections for 24-48 hours. Consuming alcohol can increase bruising, swelling, and delay the healing process.

Drinking alcohol with in 24 hours of getting hyaluronic acid fillers can cause you to swell more and increases your risk of bruising. Those things can make it take longer for you to see the final result, however, in my experience, it will not dissolve the filler.

Consuming alcohol 24 hours before or after initial lip filler injections typically increases your chances of bruising. There isn’t a risk of it dissolving your filler!

Consumption of alcohol can cause some anticoagulant effects. IMHO it will not affect the effects. More likely than not, it may increase the swelling following the attempt to dissolve the filler.

You can be swollen and bruised immediately after lip filler injections and drinking alcohol can lead to worse bruising as well as more swelling but it will not lead to dissolving the filler. It can take about 2 weeks for final results. I generally recommend not having any major events immediately after. Consuming alcohol will not dissolve your filler. You will be swollen the night after injection and potentially bruised so beware of that. In my opinion, filler is not going to move much with activity but excessive lip use could lead to migration away from where your injector put it.

I do not know of any sources which state that alcohol consumption will dissolve your filler, however alcohol consumption may increase inflammation and can also dehydrate you, both of which can slow healing and potentially affect your results. I would recommend discussing your concerns in detail with whichever experienced facial filler injector you use.
