I believe you are addressing submandibular glands on lateral side of the neck? They are not visible in every neck and most of the patients do not need anything done. In those patients where glands are large and visible before neck/face lift, it should be discussed with the patient; this bulk may be even more visible after neck tightening. In that case, option of gland reduction, including deep fat around it, should be discussed. It is procedure which should be done by a very experienced face lift surgeon and for that reason, it is far from being accepted by every plastic surgeon performing more traditional face/neck lifts.
