Urgent! Had Juvederm to nasolabial folds today and I’m worried. Is this the beginning of vascular compromise or is it just a bruise?
Answer: Filler It is not possible to determine if you have an occlusion based on the photograph alone. You do however have a valid concern and I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.

Answer: Nasolabial folds It is impossible to make the diagnosis based on this photgraph. However, your concern is very valid. And you should relate it to your injector. Injections of hyaluronidase to be of value must be done as soon as possible to salvage viable tissue. Even if this is a vascular problem the majority will recover without any problems. Good luck!

Answer: Bruising after Juvederm Hi, and thanks for your question. From your picture, it appears as if you are having bruising due to the placement of filler. Sometimes the procedure, will cause bruising due to trauma. Other times, if you are taking any type of blood thinners, or things that may cause thinning of the blood such as aspirin, alcohol, Vitamin E, or others, bruising can commonly appear. Vascular compromise would appear as a white and eventually bluish area on the tissue. If you feel you are concerned, you should go back to your medical provider. Best of luck, Dr. Alvarez

Answer: Touch and go, urgent review if pain - Juvederm injections. OK- based on one blurred photo I can not call this. Looking at the area lateral to the NL fold I can see the start of reticulate erythema (redness), I can not see any pustulation. That area is supplied by the facial artery leading to the angular artery toward the top of your NL fold. If there is pain, the probability of occlusion is higher. Bottom line, see your expert injector face to face for an assessment. Enzymes can reverse HA fillers, so I would not worry, just see your Specialist . All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
