If you have facial waxing prior to fillers you are more likely to have skin irritation or dermatitis from topical anesthetics that are applied (numbing gels), ice or cold sprays or from the cleanser that is used. Also, it potentially could increase your risk of infection, although the risk for this is extremely unlikely.
Thank you for submitting your question. It should be fine to proceed with facial filler after waxing. If you tend to get a little inflamed or irritated from the waxing, you may want to wait a couple of days before undergoing the injectable treatment. Be sure to check with your plastic surgeon and follow their protocol. Thanks again for your inquiry.
you can wax before fillers but i would suggest doing it 24-72 hours after. For facial rejuvenation I would suggest a combination approach of :1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel, Viva, Co2/Erbium4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at restBest, Dr. Emer.
Yes, it will be fine to get waxing before or after fillers. Ultimately it will be up to the practitioner to evaluate your skin to make sure there is no other reason not to perform the treatment.
You shouldn't have any issues with getting fillers after a laser hair removal treatment. It may be a little extra sensitive and always a chance of inflammation but that won't affect the injectables.
There is no problem with waxing prior to an injectable treatment also I would avoid waxing before a chemical peel or any laser skin treatment.
As long as you do not have any active infection of the skin, it is safe to get filler after a facial waxing. I still sterilize my patient's face prior to the procedure even after waxing to minimize any risk of infection. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
Thank you for your question! There is no problem with having waxing done prior to injectables. I actually have patience wax before certain surgical procedures to help decrease the risk of infection. If you do get a folliculitis or skin tear from the waxing it’s best to hold off on your fillers if this is in the area to be injected until things have healed or calmed down. Otherwise there is absolutely no problem. Best of luck!

I treat under eye circles/bags with fillers on multiple patients every day in my office in Orange County, CA and it is a fantastic treatment for this area BUT if your physician is telling you not to do it, it is probably because he or she does not feel comfortable treating this area and/or they...
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. This appears to be lip filler that was placed close to the lip skin surface. This can be easily treated with placement of hyaluronidase dissolving products. Hope this helps.
The red spots are from some inflammation on the lips, if there is no pain or increase of the temperature in the area, it should not be a concern. It seems that you had a considerable amount of filler injected in the lips and the swelling and inflammation may take longer to subside.
We can try to dissolve any residual filler that may be causing that noticeable bulge. If that works, we can give it a week or 2 to relax and then start again with a softer under eye filler like Restylane.
