Too much projection with Juvederm: should I have my cupid’s bow dissolved to reduce the projection? (Photos)

Question

Last time I had them injected I asked for height to my upper lip: I want more pink to show on my top lip, I said “please don’t inject anywhere that could potentially make my upper lip project.” I feel like she over injected my Cupid’s bow, ie duck looking? Do you agree? Where should she have injected instead? Please excuse my peeling face thanks to retinoids ;) on a side note: debating getting filler in cheeks, chin or Kybella instead? The glamour lips are what I was going for, as pictured.

if you are unhappy reverse with hyaluronidase and restart the process. wait 2-3 weeks and use LED redlight to ensure the swelling goes down completely first before you make that decision.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The bottom line with fillers - is that they add volume. It is essential that the patient and the Doctor/ Injector communicate precisely and accurately before the injection takes place. This interaction is essential together with the strategic placement of the product and the careful molding of its shape and size to achieve as perfectly as possible the patient's wishes.

Dear Esthetician89,I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.
I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.Daniel Barrett, MD

I think your lips look good. However it’s so personal so if you’re not happy don’t hesitate to get back in contact with your injector. They can add more or dissolve the filler if you’re not happy.

Honestly, I think your lips look pretty good. I would have probably injected a little less filler into the lower lips but overall I think the result suits your face. If you are unhappy with your results, I would followup with your injector to discuss your results and concerns and to determine if anything can be done.
