Too much projection with Juvederm: should I have my cupid’s bow dissolved to reduce the projection? (Photos)

Last time I had them injected I asked for height to my upper lip: I want more pink to show on my top lip, I said “please don’t inject anywhere that could potentially make my upper lip project.” I feel like she over injected my Cupid’s bow, ie duck looking? Do you agree? Where should she have injected instead? Please excuse my peeling face thanks to retinoids ;) on a side note: debating getting filler in cheeks, chin or Kybella instead? The glamour lips are what I was going for, as pictured.

As long as you do not have any active infection of the skin, it is safe to get filler after a facial waxing. I still sterilize my patient's face prior to the procedure even after waxing to minimize any risk of infection. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

Thank you for your question. Juvederm ultra tends to last around 6 months in the lips. If this is bothering you it can be corrected with an enzyme called hyalase. This will dissolve these little lumps you have.
