I'm looking for advice on treating these flat scars I have as a result of my breast augmentation procedure (Oct 2016 - 1 year post op) :( Im not sure if the brown ring below the white scar is from my areola (thinking it is - if so... can this area be bleached?)... or any success with medical tattoo/scar revision/skin dye's/etc..? Any specialist referrals for northern CA area? I'm more self conscious now than before getting the augmentation. Please help. Thank you in advance!

Answer: Common Problem Hello,I've been specializing in revision breast surgery for almost 18 years, and I can be confident telling you that periareolar scars on average are not visually inconspicuous or cosmetically pleasing, despite their reputation for being so. Yes, some are virtually invisible, but THAT is unusual and your scars are NOT unusual. As for treatment now, scar revision may be your best option, however a full discussion should be had, as there is no perfect answer. Best of luck.
