The beginning of pollybeak or no? (Photo)

Question

I had my surgery a year to reduce the hump on my nose. One year later and I have noticed a hard bump on my supratip. Will this get worse or is this normal? Pictures Include before surgery and three sides after.

Based on your photos, you have a nice result after rhinoplasty. Over the first year or two, the tip can lose support, but so far, it looks good. Be sure to keep following up with your surgeon so you can have it evaluated.

From what I can see from your post-op pictures one year out on your surgery, the short answer is no, and your nose looks great! At this point, being one year out, your nose shouldn't change much at all if anything. The supratip break by definition is a junction between two different anatomical sites in your nose, (jargon alert) specifically, the lower lateral cartilages and the dorsal septal plane or cartilage. My point in bringing this up is that it's a transition or break point that isn't necessarily "smooth" or "soft". A pollybeak deformity is from excess tissue over this supratip area, which judging from your pictures, is not what's going on. Whoever did your nose did a great job!

Hello! It doesn't appear to be a pollybeak but somewhat hard to tell off of the photos without examination. Steroid injections can help if there is fullness present in addition to taping. I would re-visit with your surgeon to have a look. Hope this helps!

The pollybeak will not come off on its own. Surgeon will need to remove the dorsum of the supratip a bit and give more support and definition to the nasal tip.
