Hi I had my nose done a year ago and I've noticed some few issues which I have consulted with my doctor and I got told it’s swelling. However I think I have a scar tissue on my nostril because it’s hard and it’s kind of like a bump? And now I have another issue my nose bridge has a bump now which kind I noticed 2 weeks ago and this is a year post up.

Answer: Rhinoplasty The photos really don’t show what you are describing very well at all. It would be interesting to know if you had cartilage grafting done on the tip. If so that could cause a hard bump and removing the graft might be an option for you

Answer: Rhinoplasty results To make an assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure, we need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. The nose is in part made up of bone and part of it is Cartlidge. All people will have a step off sensation where the bone transitions to Cartlidge. I don’t see any obvious defects on your nose, which looks fairly normal and typical. Some scar tissue formation along the incision inside the nostril is not uncommon after rhinoplasty surgery. At one year, you are no longer swollen and this is the outcome of your procedure. Feeling a contour irregularity is quite different than seeing one when it comes to assessing the outcome of rhinoplasty surgery. Follow up with your provider or schedule in person a second opinion consultations. For second opinion consultations I’m prepared to bring with you a complete set up before and after pictures and a copy of the operative report. These are all available from your current providers office if you ask for them. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
