Will getting pregnant after revision rhinoplasty affect the result?

Question

I’ve read that pregnancy causes the nose to swell. How long should I wait after my revision rhinoplasty (using rib graft) to begin trying to become pregnant? Or is there no need to worry as it won’t affect the results. Thank you

Not every pregnancy results in facial swelling and fluid retention. Some women, with or without rhinoplasty, experience facial and nasal swelling that can persist for a year after pregnancy. If you were to get pregnant after revision rhinoplasty, I believe this would not affect your final result once all of your pregnancy swelling and surgical swelling is gone. Great question. I would wait at least 3-6 months to ensure your healing is optimal and swelling is controlled. Once pregnancy occurs, you'll naturally get more swelling and it can go to the nose - even if not operated on. The issue with prolonged swelling that isn't treated is that it can lead to scarring.
