Thank you for your question. Selecting the correct implant is among the most important decisions in a successful breast augmentation procedure. There are several factors to consider and the placement of the identical implant will not produce the same results in all patients due to differences in:1. Dimensions of the breast 2. Diameter of the chest 3. Volume of the breast tissue 4. Height and weight 5. Breast shape, including ptosis and asymmetryI rely on 3 methods to advise my patients: 1. Dimensional planning 2. Gel implant sizing 3. 3-Dimensional Vectra imaging system. At the time of consultation, measurements are taken allowing for dimensional planning to select the implant which best fits the base diameter of the breast. Gel implant sizing is performed to allow you to visualize augmentation with the various sized implants. Vectra 3-D imaging has been a very important method in my practice in selecting the correct implant size and shape as it allows you to see what you will look like following augmentation with any of the available implants. Thanks for the question. For a better answer to your concerns its good to have at least some photos to give you the advice. The best is to have a personal evaluation to discuss all your doubts about the procedure and to tell you whats best for you. We take some parameters to determine the volume of the implant such as the chest diameter of the patients. Kind regards
Your height and weight are important but pre-op photos and exam would be essential to give this the best answer . The final implant size with certain exceptions, should be decided between you and your chosen Operating Surgeon. Also, keep in mind - bra manufacturers do not consult Plastic Surgeons when creating their cup sizes for their bras. Please, see the video attached.
Without a physical examination or, at the very least, photos, it is difficult to respond to your question with accuracy. However, cup sizes in bras vary, and Victoria's Secret, for example, tends to upsize. But going up two cup sizes is possible with breast augmentation. To determine which breast implant size is best for you it is important to first find out what your specific wishes are not only with words or letters such as cup size or “not too big” or “natural”, but also with a visual understanding of what you hope to look like. This can be accomplished either with photographs of patients whose breasts and body type look like you, or ideally with photos of patients not only whose breasts and body type visually are similar to yours, but are also a similar height, weight, and pre-operative breast size. In our own practice we have provided that unique functionality on our website to accomplish exactly that. Unfortunately the most common reason for a woman to be unhappy after her augmentation is feeling as though she is either too big or not big enough. Thankfully, in our practice this is rarely a problem because implant size selection is what we spend most of our time discussing and determining. I do not place the onus of selecting the breast implant size on my patients since they are coming to me for my advice and expertise, but I do ask my patients to be as specific as possible about their aesthetic goals and I then advise them accordingly. I would advise you to seek the advice of a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in breast enhancement surgery and make sure that your own sense of aesthetics aligns with that of your plastic surgeon. Your idea of “natural” or “pretty” or “proportionate” might be different from your plastic surgeon’s and it is very important for you to feel confident that you are both of like minds as far as the goals. Best of luck to you and I hope you are successful in achieving the enhancement you are seeking.
Thank you for sharing your question and congratulations on your decision to pursue a breast augmentation. Each patient has their own expectation on a goal outcome and for some a D cup may be too large while for others it is too small. Remember that a bra size is not representative of a discreet appearance or size as differences in implant style and profile as well as the soft tissue of the patient will effect your result. It sounds as if it may be useful to try on sizers in your surgeon's office to be able to find an implant that best meets your expectations. Best wishes.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. This may be a very reasonable goal for you, but it really depends on your individual breast anatomy. The size, profile, and shape ofthe implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wallmeasurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision shouldbe based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both youand your surgeon. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Hi Stacy, In warm sunny states, a D cup is very ideal and I perform this cup the most in AZ. However, breast size is a very personal choice! You should communicate your concerns with your plastic surgeon and get some feed back. Your plastic surgeon has better insight as they will have examined you and have a better idea about your frame and the effect of this implant size on your body.I suggest you explore my photo gallery for before and after of ladies with similar frames.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)
Thank you for your question.Unfortunately there are no photos. I have performed breast enlargements on many patients with your body size and they've been very happy with their D cup after surgery. As an artist (from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art) I like to match the implant to the patient. During your consultation I like to find out what your goals are (i.e. what cup size you would like to go to.) We have special breast sizers that you can place in a bra and get an idea of what the different size implants will look like on you. Patients find this very beneficial. After we know what cup size you would like to go to, I then measure your base width diameter. This is the measurement of the width of your breasts. Then we will be able to pick out your breast implant. For the breast enlargement, I utilize the bloodless breast technique which I invented. Bleeding is minimal, typically there is no bruising after surgery and recovery is quicker versus traditional techniques. For more information please watch the enclosed video. I hope you find this information useful.
The simple answer is given your height, weight and current bra size, you can probably go up two cup sizes without it looking too big for your frame. Please keep in mind that bra cup sizes day greatly from one bra manufacturer to another. It's best to discuss your size goals with your plastic surgeon and try on different sizers before your procedure.Good luck!
It is best to describe the appearance you want to achieve from your breast augmentation, as actual cup sizes vary widely from various bra brands. Also, biodementional breast measurements will further help to determine the range of breast implant sizes and styles which would be appropriate for you. Having said all that, I am I am certain you could obtain a D cup appearance without being too large for your frame. Best of luck.
I would wait at least 6 weeks after breast augmentation before going white water rafting or doing any aggressive physical activity that requires use of the upper arms. Of course follow the advice of your plastic surgeon.
I am not a Japanese plastic surgeon but do have a large Asian cosmetic surgery practice. There are many techniques of breast enhancements. In the 1940-60's, permanent fillers such as silicone and paraffin injections were used to augment breasts in Japan. Unfortunately, these techniques often re...
