Thank you so much for your question. Yes, after six weeks you can sit without the pillow, but I recommend you to contact your plastic surgeon and follow up the post advise.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Thank you for your question! For my patients having a BBL, I recommend they stay off of their butt completely for the first 10 days post op, then use a BBL pillow for 3 weeks. After that, they have no more sitting restrictions and it is safe to sit on their butt. I recommend discussing specific post op instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
A good candidate has enough fat available for transfer in the procedure. The amount of fat that can be transferred in a BBL depends on how much fat the patient has to harvest and the amount of space there is to move the fat into. It is recommended for the patient to have a BMI of 30 or less. If you are too thin, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not be possible.
Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has his or her own protocol after a BBL. I usually require patients to stay off the grafts for about 6 weeks but before you do, I would just make sure that is ok with your surgeon.Good luck!Dallas R. Thank you for your question. I usually recommend patients to use the BBL pillow for 6 weeks. At this time you should be fine to sit without the pillow. I advice you call your doctor just to make sure he agrees with these recommendations. Good luck!
Dear marilyn mills,I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. But every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question.Every plastic surgery office has their own set of pre and post operative instructions that they recommend their patients follow. It is most important to follow the instructions of your surgeon.
Greetings. In general, I tell patients they can stop using a pillow for sitting 3 weeks after the procedure date. If they have concerns, they can use it beyond three weeks. You can also verify with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
I recommend my patients undergoing a BBL to limit sitting and when doing so to sit on a neck doughnut( as used on an airplane) for about 2 weeks. At 6 weeks you should be fine sitting without any soft cushion such as a pillow.
Sickle cell trait is usually okay for surgery. There are some rare cases reported where patients can have issues after the stress of surgery. I have done a BBL on a few patients with sickle cell trait with no issues. I did have both get "clearance" from their PCP prior to surgery.
Dear chewy75,After 15 days post op you should not be worried about fat survival, the good ones that will survive won't die with you falling down. I would be more worried about bruising or hematomas if your where taking blood thinner shots, if everything seems to look ok don't worry to much. Best...
