Can I get a BBL at the same time as facial fat grafting?

Question

My doctor suggested to do a BBL; fat grafting on my face (cheeks and lips+ upper lip lift). My concern is recovery: how would I sleep/ lay down if I have my butt and face done at the same time? He told me it should not be a problem but I need opinion from other doctors!

Dear Miss Bounty,Some plastic surgeons may want to split this into two operations depending on the time needed but it can be combined. I instruct my BBL patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. You can sleep on your sides. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question. Yes you can do both procedures in the same surgery. After a brazilian butt lift no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions.  The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed. That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Best is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

Hi. After a BBL is perfectly possible to sleep on your back and sit. There is no scientific evidence that this positions will jeopardize the transfered fat in any way.What really matters is to harvest the fat by traditional Lipo (to  keep the integrity of the fat cell that will be transfered to the receptor area) and to not have massages or ultrasound in the area. Hello darling! Thank you for questioning..Usually after getting BBL done there is no much trouble if you lay down after a few days of surgery. I'd recommend sleeping on your side at least the first 4-6 days and then lay down without problem.
