Could I get a BBL if I have sickle cell trait?

I’m interested in getting a bbl, but I have sickle cell trait. I’ve heard some physicians refuse to perform surgery on patients with sickle cell, but I haven’t seen much about those solely with the trait. Are there any possible complications I should know about? I’ve never had problems working out or staying active, and when I’ve donated blood, I’ve always had enough hemoglobin, even for the double donations.

A good candidate has enough fat available for transfer in the procedure. The amount of fat that can be transferred in a BBL depends on how much fat the patient has to harvest and the amount of space there is to move the fat into. It is recommended for the patient to have a BMI of 30 or less. If you are too thin, a Brazilian Butt Lift may not be possible.

Sickle cell trait is usually okay for surgery. There are some rare cases reported where patients can have issues after the stress of surgery. I have done a BBL on a few patients with sickle cell trait with no issues. I did have both get "clearance" from their PCP prior to surgery.
