I had full body liposuction (Upper Arms, Abdomen, Flanks, Back (Bra Area), Thighs (Outer & Inner) & Calves on June 14, 2018. The fat was transferred to my butt afterwards. (1) Referencing the pictures attached, will the skin in my back eventually contract so my upper body isn't so puffy and titanic? Is this in part with the swelling or is it fat that wasn't removed? The arms and upper back seem to be larger than they were before surgery. (2) What kind of diet would you recommend post BBL?

Answer: Diet after a BBL Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. Swelling typically takes about 3 months to go down. I think the increased size is likely swelling. I know it is hard but just give the time for the liposuction to heal. I recommend diets high in protein after surgery and also high in anti-inflammatories i.e. pineapple.I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear HeyitsGinger, you are still in early postoperative period and you can expect swelling. It should go down with time. Regarding diet, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
