I hate my profile. I figure I need fillers in my deep chin crease and I absolutely hate my nostrils/nose but I can't pinpoint what needs to be or could be done to change the overexposed nostrils. I don't think I need my jaw sculpted because if I just lose 20 lbs my jaw will become more defined again. Agree, disagree? Suggestions?
Answer: Nostril retraction Though you have asked several different questions I will focus on your nostril question as there is a definitive solution to your question. You have some alar retraction from the photo that you have provided. I suspect that there is also a bit of hanging columella as well. Surgically you will probably be very happy with alar rim grafts and some elevation of the medial crura with septo columella sutures. An experienced rhinopasty surgeon can demonstrate these changes using computer imaging. Best of luck!

Answer: You may have a severe hanging columella. Based on your singular profile photo, you appear to have a hanging columella with excessive nostril show. Have you had previous nasal surgery? If not, rhinoplasty techniques may be considered for reducing the amount of nostril show associated with the hanging columella. Thank you for this question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: What can be done about my hanging columella and overexposed nostrils? The photograph is rather limited, however it is difficult to tell whether not there is a hanging columella present or retracted nostrils, or both. A columella-plasty accomplishes bringing in the columella in relationship to the nostrils. Nostril retraction is best treated with composite skin/ cartilage grafts harvested from the ear. For more information and many before-and-after examples, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Nasal Flare on profile Hi, thank you for your question it is hard to tell much from one photo, a lot of factors contribute to the nasal flare. Smile muscles can cause the nostrils to flare, even after some of the surgeries you might be interested in reading more about such as alar base reduction.Flared nostrils surgery corrects nostril flaring for static facial expressions. If the flared nose is due to nasal tip cartilage, a tip rhinoplasty can be done. Seek a trained plastic surgeon in your area for better advice. Hope this helps
