I had septoplasty surgery in july 2023. It was supposed to be a normal deviated septum correction but instead, I was left with a small but noticeable dent in my nose. I was recently diagnosed with silent sinus syndrome and need to have this corrected. The septoplasty completely changed the entire outside of my nose which was not at all supposed to happen. I am not sure what to do, or where to turn to at this point but i’m positive i’ll need a revision rhinoplasty. What can this be? Someone help!
Answer: Filler or Rhinoplasty to correct shape... A septoplasty should not change the exterior shape of the nose except maybe a bit at the bottom of the columella. Often times a dent can be improved with filler or silicone before undergoing surgery. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

Answer: A permanent non-surgical nose job may be considered for filling in the indentation above the tip of your nose. Based on your photos, we can see the indentation above your tip that is giving me appearance of a small dorsal hump. Microdroplet Silikon-1000 nasal injections may be considered for permanently improving your nasal profile appearance by filling in the indentation, and camouflaging the small bump. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Tip support after septoplasty Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Although septoplasty is designed to preserve the support from the nasal septum to the nasal tip, it can alter the relationships of the ligaments that stabilize the tip cartilages. As a result, if the tip cartilages are moderately soft, there may be a slight loss of tip projection and a changed relationship with the nasal bridge. To restore adequate tip support, graft material may be necessary—either from the nasal septum, if still available, or from rib cartilage. However, addressing the silent sinus syndrome should be the priority, as it is an evolving condition that must be stabilized before proceeding with further nasal aesthetic interventions.

Answer: Left with dent in the nose after septoplasty A cosmetic rhinoplasty can accomplish filling in the dent as shown on your photographs, or shaving down the residual dorsal hump above the dent itself. Rhinoplasty is a very difficult endeavor, so choose your surgeon very wisely based on extensive experience producing natural results.
