Hi there! There are some parameters we follow in rhinoplasty as guidance for an “ideal” aesthetic, though individual consideration is very important. Nostrils can be reduced during rhinoplasty. I call this an alar base reduction and can look quite nice. It’s important in Asian rhinoplasty not to narrow the nostrils too much as it can look operated. Roughly, the nose should be about 1/3 of the face (horizontal thirds).
