Should I change the size of the nose implant? I'm 7 months post op and my goretex implant looks obvious.(photos)

Goretex and other synthetic materials tend to show edges and contour irregularities over time as they thin the skin of the nose. Rather than changing the implant for another Goretex implant, which will inevitably cause issues long-term, the better option would be to remove the implant and replace it with tissue from your own body. A skilled surgeon will be able to create an aesthetically improved shape that also has the benefit of being permanent.

Hi there! GoreTex can be very tricky and I don’t tend to use it for several reasons. There can be quite a strong inflammatory response leading to irregularities. 6 mm is quite a bit of augmentation. If you’re seeing graft on the inside, that’s not a good thing. This can be an entry point for bacteria leading to infection. I prefer using native materials like rib which have a low rate of infection and nice results. I would seek re-evaluation with your surgeon, or another, to see the status of your nose and the implant.
