While I'm happy with my weight (5ft 2, 56 kgs, small frame up top), I still plan to lose a couple of kilos (maybe 3-5 kgs) after my surgery. I store most of my fat in my thighs, butt but still do lose weight from my boobs. Should this prospective weight loss post surgery affect my implants? My implant size will most likely be between 330cc and 375 cc.

Answer: Breast augmentation, 330-375cc Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. This amount of weight loss should not significantly affect your implant size decision. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Weight change after breast augmentation surgery Pregnancy and significant weight change (10 percent) are two of the more common reasons for changes in breast surgery results. Breasts could remain the same size, become slightly bigger, smaller, or droopier. With pregnancy the changes can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy. Ten percent for you would be at least 5.6 kgs.Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author
