Hello I am 19 years old and have a problem with my recessed chin. I would say it is the only thing I don't like about my face. Is there any solution I am really insecure about it. Thank you
Answer: Treatment for recessed chin Hi! Thank you for your question in your picture! It really depends on the state of your occlusion. What that means, is how your teeth fit together. If your teeth fit together, you’d be a very good candidate for a chin implant. It’s a small incision that can be done just underneath the chin or inside the mouth depending on your preference. And then advance with an implant to your liking such that your contour and profile is perfect. Conversely, if there are some dental issues, then you’d want to address those first because doing surgery on the bone itself may be more beneficial in improving the overall profile. Hope some of this helps.

Answer: Chin implant is a good option Thrifty: I agree your chin is a little recessed. You could do injectable fillers or a surgery for chin augmentation. Fillers are nice because there is less downtime, and the results are temporary in case you don't like it. For surgery, I recommend silicone chin implants from Implantech because they are easy to customize, and easy to remove to change the size if necessary. I recently started doing chin implants in the office and patients seem to tolerate it just fine. Doing it in the office reduces cost. Thank you for your question and good luck

Answer: Chin enhancement At your age you have the option of either adjusting the chin or adjusting the bite. You may already have undergone orthodontic treatment to improve the relationship of the teeth, but you should have a repeat assessment to decide whether your best way for the limited procedure for the chin for an adjustment for the lower jaw which would also impact the shape of the chin. If your decision is to change only the chin, either chin implant genioplasty can give you the shape change that you seek.A 3D computer imaging and simulation would allow you to determine the amount of projection that you would feel comfortable with and whether to opt for a squarer or more rounded appearance of the chin.
