From some angles I have a wonderful jawline and chin but from straight on and directly the side I feel like I look like I have a weak chin. Would I benefit from getting a chin implant?
Answer: Follow-up question: Would I benefit from a chin implant? (photos) If you think you have a weak chin that detracts from your appearance, or exacerbates your nose, make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon for an in office exam to discuss your options. Answer: Non-Surgical Chin Augmentation with Injectable Fillers -- Radiesse, Sculptra, Surgical Implants, See an Expert Thank you for your question! A formal evaluation would be needed to determine what's best. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, so we perform a non-surgical chin augmentation treatment with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse as well as Sculptra are injected into the area, improving the overall appearance of the lower face and balancing the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline and improve the chin crease. Implants are still a great option once you are 100% positive that you are ready for a permanent enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert; our practice is located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Face contouring Dear NDdancer25, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos it looks like you would benefit from chin implant. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Do I Need a Chin Implant Even though it is invasive, a chin implant can have a tremendous impact on facial dimensions for the better. And it is one of the few procedures we do that is totally reversible. Chin implants come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes which can accentuate different aspects. I frequently use it as a supplement with facelift and rhinoplasty. I like to place it through a small incision under the chin.
