Should I consider a Lip flip or lip lift for my Long philtrum? (Photos)

The technique I recommend is a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. This is done under local anesthesia, takes less than 1 hour to perform and costs $3,000.

No amount of filler or botulinum will shorten your lip appropriately. Your lip can be shortened, if done appropriately, without causing any excessive gummy appearance. Watch our many videos to learn more.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. The only way to shorten a long philtrum is through a lip lift procedure but you do have full lips already, so be sure to have the appearance change demonstrated to you before electing the surgery. Hope this helps.

We say that the ideal philtrum length is between 18mm~20mm and you can measure the distance from the base of the nose to the middle of the cupids bow on the upper lip. If its longer then the ideal distance by 3-5 mm then a surgical lip lift will improve the balance in your face . You can always try botox lip flip which would flip the lip up av a bit and see if you like but dose not shorten the length of the philtrum.
