I had a breast reduction done by Dr. Layth Gurgia, and it was one of the best medical experiences I have ever had. It really feels like he listens to you during the consultations, and he has a very calm and caring demeanor about him. The whole time, I knew I was in good hands. I had upper arm liposuction 6 months ago. Had disproportional huge upper arms. I consulted a few PS most of whom recommended liposuction and plastic surgery to remove excess skin. Layth recommended liposuction with renuvion skin tightening. We discussed realistic expectations and risks. He was professional and honest. I felt I would be in safe hands. Surgery to remove excess skin was no option for med because of scars. Sex months after liposuction I am very happy with the results. No loose skins or bumps and I can fit into clothes I could not before. The hardness of tissue after liposuction and skin discoloration from renuvion had disapeared fully within 5 months. A good decision it turned out to be :)
Determining the maximum amount of fat that can be safely transferred to the buttocks during a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) involves various factors and considerations, including the patient's anatomy, skin elasticity, desired outcome, and the surgeon's expertise. Here are some key points to address your questions: 1. Assessment of Available Space: Surgeons evaluate the available space in the buttocks region to determine how much fat can be safely injected. This assessment considers factors such as the patient's body proportions, existing buttock volume, and skin elasticity. 2.Skin Elasticity: Skin elasticity plays a crucial role in the success of a BBL. Patients with good skin elasticity are more likely to achieve favorable outcomes as the skin can better accommodate the increased volume resulting from fat transfer. However, individuals with poor skin elasticity may not be suitable candidates for extensive fat grafting as they may be at higher risk of sagging or other complications. 3. Limiting Factors: Surgeons must adhere to safe guidelines regarding the volume of fat that can be injected during a BBL to minimize the risk of complications such as fat embolism or necrosis. Additionally, there may be practical limitations based on the patient's anatomy and aesthetic goals. 4. Modern Techniques and Technology: Surgeons use various modern techniques and technology to optimize fat transfer during a BBL. This may include specialized liposuction methods to harvest fat with minimal trauma, as well as advanced purification and processing techniques to ensure the viability of the fat cells before re-injection. 5. Fat Viability: After harvesting the fat via liposuction, it undergoes a purification process to remove excess fluids, blood, and damaged cells. The purified fat is then carefully injected into the buttocks in small aliquots or droplets to ensure proper blood supply and survival of the transferred fat cells. The amount of fat that can be successfully re-implanted depends on factors such as the quality of the harvested fat, the technique used for purification, and the patient's specific anatomy. 6. Optimal Fat Volume: While the amount of fat that can be re-injected varies from patient to patient, a general guideline is to aim for a volume that enhances the buttock contours without overfilling or creating an unnatural appearance. Surgeons typically aim for a balance between achieving the desired aesthetic outcome and ensuring the safety and integrity of the procedure. When fat is forced into the buttock then the number of cells surviving will be less and the volume of fat that remains after a few months is also less. It's important for patients to have realistic expectations and to discuss their goals and concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in BBL procedures. The surgeon can assess the patient's candidacy, provide personalized recommendations, and outline the expected outcomes based on their unique anatomy and aesthetic preferences. It's possible that the braces and jaw correction you underwent during your adolescence could have affected the mobility of your upper lip, particularly if there were significant changes in the positioning of your teeth and jaw. However, without a thorough examination by a dentist or orthodontist, it's difficult to determine the exact cause of your current issue. Here are some potential reasons why your upper lip may be less mobile now: 1. Scar tissue: Sometimes, orthodontic treatments can result in scar tissue formation around the gums or lip area, which may restrict the movement of the upper lip. 2. Muscle tension: Changes in the alignment of your teeth and jaw could lead to altered muscle tension in the surrounding areas, including your lips. 3. Habitual behavior: It's possible that over time, you've developed a habit of keeping your upper lip in a certain position, especially if you were conscious of your overbite before getting it corrected. To resolve this issue, I recommend visiting a dentist or orthodontist who can assess your situation more accurately. They may suggest various treatment options, including: 1. Physical therapy: Your healthcare provider might recommend exercises to improve the mobility and flexibility of your upper lip muscles. 2. Orthodontic adjustments: Depending on the assessment, your orthodontist may recommend further adjustments to your braces or even the use of a retainer to help encourage the proper positioning of your upper lip. 3. Surgical intervention: In some cases, surgical procedures may be necessary to correct any underlying, or shortening the distance between the base of the nose to the lips may be a good solution if the distance is long. I hope this helps Best Regards Dr Layth Gurgia Consultant plastic surgeon. Stockholm , Sweden
Hi There, Thank you for your question. Scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, can influence the way breast implants sit on the chest. It can impact the overall symmetry and positioning of the breasts. Your surgeon's assessment that the heavy feeling could be related to your anatomical characteristics might be accurate. It's important to have realistic expectations, as addressing anatomical issues might not always result in perfect symmetry or complete elimination of discomfort. Recovery Timeline: Swelling, discomfort, and changes in sensation are normal parts of the recovery process after breast surgery. It can take several months for your body to fully heal and for the implants to settle into their final position. It's possible that the heavy feeling you're experiencing could improve further as your body continues to heal. Considerations for Another Revision: Deciding on another revision surgery should not be taken lightly. Before pursuing another surgery, discuss your goals, concerns, and potential outcomes with your surgeon. They can provide insights into whether additional surgery is likely to address the heavy feeling and whether any risks or limitations should be considered. It's important to prioritize your own comfort and satisfaction. If the heavy feeling is causing significant discomfort or impacting your quality of life, it's worth discussing your options with your surgeon. They can help you weigh the potential benefits of a revision surgery against the risks and potential limitations. Ultimately, the decision to pursue another revision surgery should be made in consultation with your surgeon, considering your unique circumstances, goals, and medical history. Your surgeon's expertise will play a crucial role in guiding you toward the best course of action. Best Regards Dr Layth Gurgia Consultant plastic surgeon Stockholm Sweden
After a buttock augmentation surgery with implants, it's not uncommon for there to be some initial differences in the position and appearance of the implants. Swelling, settling, and natural tissue adjustments can play a role in how the implants eventually settle into their final position. However, the extent to which this can happen varies from person to person. It can take longer than 7 months so I would suggest having patients and waiting a few more months. Massaging the area around the implant is sometimes recommended by surgeons as part of the recovery process, but it's important to follow your surgeon's specific instructions. Massaging should be done gently and according to the guidance provided by your surgeon, as excessive or incorrect manipulation could potentially cause harm or complications. If you're concerned about the asymmetry and the position of the implants, I strongly recommend that you reach out to your board-certified plastic surgeon who performed the procedure. They can assess your current condition, provide advice, and determine if any intervention is needed to address the difference in implant position. They may suggest a wait-and-see approach, additional massages, or potentially other corrective measures. I hope this helps Best Regards och lycka till. Hello Bright , Sorry to hear about your problem. Fat Transfer: A fat transfer procedure, also known as fat grafting, involves taking fat from one area of your body (typically through liposuction) and injecting it into the desired areas of your face to restore volume and symmetry. Filler Injections: Dermal fillers, such as hyaluronic acid-based fillers or PLLA can be used to restore lost volume and improve facial symmetry. I hope this helps Best regards Lycka till Dr Layth Gurgia Consultant plastic surgeon Stockholm Sweden
