When will breasts soften after BA?

Dear axel5858,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 6 weeks  post op.

Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.

At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.

Thanks for your question and congratulations on your surgery. Unfortunately when you have very little breast tissue and then place a large, high profile implant, the breast will feel more firm. It is unlikely that they will change a whole lot with regard to the feel. Hopefully as time goes on, you will become more used to them. Best of Luck!

Your concerne is truly understandable. I understand that you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 6 weeks post op. It’s normal for them to still be firm, as this will take time over the next 2-3 months to feel normal. You will like the feel of them just around that time period but remember to be patient and follow up with your PS with any details that may come to mind. The reason why is most likely due to your tissue that is still swollen at this point.
You most likely have a great PS looking after you so don’t mind keeping contact on a regular basis and to adresse all your questions to them so they may assist you if you need anything done more.
To respond to your last question as to when you may wear a normal bra, it would be when the swelling has subsided and so around 3 months post op so like that you won’t have any problems finding your special fit.

Hello and thank you for sharing your concerns. I understand you are anxious for your breasts to heal and feel “normal,” but this may take many months before you see full changes. Tissue swelling takes a long time to subside, and it is probable that this is contributing to the firmness you are experiencing. In addition, you likely did not have a lot of breast tissue going into your surgery and with the size of the implants you received, your full results may be somewhat delayed. Try to be patient and follow your surgeon’s instructions and in time, you will see the positive outcome you are waiting for. In the meantime, if you have questions or concerns, the best person to answer them will be your plastic surgeon. Best wishes for a comfortable and speedy recovery!

Thank you for your question. Total healing from breast augmentation surgery can take several months, so the fact that your breasts haven’t softened much yet seems normal. There is most likely still quite a bit of swelling, so continue to massage your breasts and be aware of any abnormally firm hardening, as that can signal capsular contracture. My best advice would be to check in with your board certified plastic surgeon, as they are familiar with your body and are the most qualified to ensure that you are healing properly. Good luck!

Hi,Great question. Everyone heals differently. You started off small and went to a pretty descent size. It will take a little longer for your breast implants to feel softer but they will over time. Woman who have some breast tissue already tend to have a little bit softer breasts after surgery because they had some soft tissue on top to start with. Be patient and they will soften up with time. Thank you for your question. It will take several more weeks to soften. Your tissues need to relax and then it feels foster. It can take up to 4-6 months.Please follow instructions from your PS

Hello and thank you for your question.   It can take 6 months or so before your implants feel like you don't have implants, and are just a part of you.   Give it time, it will happen .

Keep doing your massaging and wear whatever garment your surgeon has requested you wear.
