Breasts uneven 5 weeks post-op, is something wrong? (Photos)

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  You are still very early in your recovery and it is in fact normal to have breasts settle at different rates depending on whether asymmetrical sizes were placed or if one breast was smaller/tighter than the other.  Looking at your photographs your “before” shows that your left breast sat naturally higher on your chest than your right and looks to have been tighter.  This has caused your implant to be squeezed and held flat against your chest.  Over the next several months you should see the lower portion of your left breast stretch out and better match your right.  It is difficult to wait but hang in there.

 Thank you very much for your question.  It is not unusual that breast implants are relatively high after surgery. It will take months for them to assume their final position. Dear jaibeellen,Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position.

I understand that you are worried about your implants are not dropping as expected. However, you are still in the early phase of the recovery period. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.

Your left breast has a higher fold and is a smaller breast. The weight of the implant may stretch this out over the next 3-5 months. If not then a revision could lower it a bit and this may be what you desire. Time will tell but remember you started a little different breasts and will end a little different. In fact many times breast augmentation will magnify what appears to be a small asymmetry. Good Luck!

It can take 4-6 months for the breasts to settle into the pocket. You have to be patients and give them time. If concerned, review this with your surgeon.

As some of the other physicians have answered,you are too early out to judge results. From your preoperative photos it is apparent that you did not have a lot of extra skin on your chest wall to accomodate the implants. For that reason, it will take some time for your skin to stretch, thus allowing the implants to drop. I've found that women with loose skin get a better shape months earlier than those with tight skin. I'd expect it will take a full 6 months, and perhaps longer, before you see your final result. In the meantime, try to be patient and follow your surgeon's instruction.

Some women take longer to heal and to drop into their pocket . As per your pre operative photo you provided it does show that your right breast naturally sits lower a bit then the left breast . It's very rare for any of us to be perfectly symmetrical. However with a few more months massaging and compliancy ,you then may be able to see where your breasts reside .
