Voluma created white patches above lip. What is this and why? (Photo)

had this procedure done a few times with good results then after about 4 years had it done in 2022.. developed white circle like patches over my lips. they lasted for about 1 year.. the nurse removed some of the product initially after I noticed the patches but it did remain visible for quite sometime . what was this and why? THANKS
