The quick answer is it depends on your specific anatomy. Neck lipo is great, but if you lose weight afterwards, you’ll then end up with unwanted loose skin. So you have to be realistic. If you feel you can actually lose the 40 lbs, then waiting until you’ve achieved that goal makes sense for the neck and face contouring procedures. You may end up needing more than just neck lipo.

The rhinoplasty is its own operation and not really weight-dependent. You’re already scheduled for that in a month so just get it done. The neck and buccal fat can wait. Discuss all this with your surgeon. All the best!

Liposuction of the neck doesn't require weight loss to get a great result. Younger patients have the advantage of the neck skin shrinking better then older patients. The limitation of liposuction of the neck is dependent on the skin shrinking after the fat volume is removed.

It's also important to remember that there are two compartments of fat in the neck, and they are located both above and below the platysma muscle in the neck. Submental liposuction can only accomplish removal of the fat deposits above the muscle, while a surgical neck lift procedure is required when there are significant deposits below the muscle
