Does the CC sum per buttock include the hips?

Hi ! I am wondering when doctors say they put 800cc or 1500cc or sum per buttock, does it mean including the hips ? Like its for example 1500cc per left buttock(including the left hip) , or is it only in the actual buttcheek? And how many ccs are usually put in the hips? Thanks x

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. This is dependent on each individual surgeon. I like to think of the Hip and Buttocks as a continuous area with a smooth transition. My totals are given to the patient as both a sum of the both parts and as individual amounts so that they can understand exactly what was done. I hope this helps.

The CC sum per buttock includes the hips. I typically transfer 1200 cc to 2000 cc per butt and hip to give the most dramatic transformation possible.

Thank you for your question. This may be surgeon dependent, however I usually count the hips and buttocks and one continuous number so it would be CCs per side. The number of CCs that are put into a patient depends on many factors, such as the amount of fat they are able to harvest and the patient's anatomy. Hope this helps!

Great question! Anatomically the buttock area is medial and lateral or projection and hips dips. So the complete buttock area could be fat transferred or only the projection or hip dips. This is a surgeon's decision if enough transferrable fat is available, if there is enough sub cutaneous space to fill with fat, etc. Best to ask your chosen surgeon before surgery where will the fat be injected. After surgery to late.

I believe most surgeons use the total amount transferred when speaking about volumes.  I record the volume placed in each area, but only discuss cc's with the patient as the total fat injected.

The answer to your question really depends on your surgeon. However, you, as the patient, should know where the fat is going. You are encouraged to consult a board certified plastic surgeon, so both of you can create the best plan for you together. The main Point of emphasis on most of my BBL is halfway between the buttocks and the hip. Fat is blended into the hip and sometimes down the thigh if needed as well as to the entire buttocks. I count all of that volume as each side of the BBL. That’s simply how I do the procedure.

I don’t know what other plastic surgeons do but not enough surgeons focus on blending grafted fat onto the thigh to create a smooth even S-curve. I see surgeons purposefully doing liposuction on the upper thigh in order to make the buttocks look bigger which gives what I call the lollipop look.  It’s quite unnatural and is difficult to correct once it’s done.

Thank you for your question. 
It really depends on the surgeon and what you have talked about during the consultation. If the patient had "hip dips " or a depression on the side or wants wider hips then the surgeon can also place fat in the area. It is usually included in the total volume per buttock and not just on the buttcheek. To achieve more harmony both areas are augmented.
